The St Tropez debut will mark the latest jewel in Oetker Collection’s crown, following the recently opened Hotel La Palma in Capri and the soon to be unveiled Vineta Hotel in Palm Beach. This announcement signifies the company’s ongoing commitment to expand its footprint slowly and carefully, and only in the world’s most glamourous destinations. At Oetker Collection, each hotel has its own distinct DNA yet is united in the desire to provide peerless hospitality, creative gastronomy, and the unadulterated elegance and glamour that guests have come to expect from the company and its family of legendary hotels.

Optimally nestled between the iconic town of St. Tropez and the beautiful beaches of Pampelonne in Ramatuelle (both an easy 5 mins drive away), the hotel will be reconstructed at the former site of Le Mas Bellevue St Tropez. Featuring 53 rooms and suites each with a private terrace or patio, the site will be home to an oversized infinity swimming pool, an expansive wellness facility, exciting bar and restaurant and offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and the sea. Guests can look forward to an authentic Provencal experience full of local flavours and sights in an ambiance that exudes glamour and authentic elegance, with both the premises and the gardens showcasing natural materials, inclusive of aged tiles, local stones, climbing vegetation and wooden pergolas.

Olivier Raffaëlli, founding partner of Triptyque, the French-Brazilian architectural firm renowned for its naturalist approach, envisioned it as a place where the soul of Saint-Tropez comes to life through its architecture, with an underlying ambition to create a sanctuary where the sea, the earth, and the sun bond in perfect harmony.

Raffaëlli comments: “The hillside embracing the hotel is not just a backdrop but an integral part of the experience. It offers precious intimacy and panoramic views of the sea, like a well kept secret. Natural elements – stone, wood, Mediterranean vegetation – were chosen to enhance this sense of belonging to the land.” The landscape itself becomes an extension of the architecture, blurring boundaries between interior and exterior spaces. He continues: “Every space within the hotel, from the rooms to the shared areas, was designed to provide a fully immersive sensory experience: the softness of the light, the scent of pine trees, the whisper of the breeze.”

Designed by French interior designers and architects Patrick Gilles and Dorothée Boissier of Paris-based studio Gilles & Boissier, the hotel will offer a sophisticated yet understated retreat, where everything breathes tranquility and serenity. Boissier makes the comparison to the experience of a sailboat, “A simple gesture brings the water close enough to feel the sea spray softly caress your face. Everything here is immediate, near, as if immersed in the essence of simplicity. Unlike a yacht, where layers separate you from the sea, here, everything is within reach. An invitation to embrace the essentials, embodied in the hotel’s philosophy: “What you have is all you need”.

Inspired by the typically Tropezian atmosphere, the design language of Gilles & Boissier reveals itself through a subtle interplay of materials and textures. The lobby will showcase textured plaster walls adorned with delicate patterns and a white stone floor. Roman inspired arches will stand alongside warm wooden beams, reminiscent of authentic Provençal farmhouses. Each detail is conceived to embody a harmonious balance between elegance and rustic simplicity.

In the rooms, arched windows open onto terraces with stunning sea views. Boissier continues: “Raw, brushed, and molded wood panels embrace the room like a jacket carefully placed on bare shoulders, bringing warmth and comfort. The straw headboard will complement the soothing colors of the room, while rope, a recurring design element, will gracefully adorn many details. The colors of Saint-Tropez; delicate pastels, warm ochres, and subtle pinks combine harmoniously with the sunlit, red-tiled roofs”. 

Guests will revel in the luxury of a secluded setting, with the hotel designed to remain discreetly hidden from view, creating a private yet convivial cocoon. The grounds will feature native plants, olive trees, and artfully landscaped gardens, furthering the hotel’s commitment to preserving the area’s natural environment.

The unveiling marks a historic moment for Madame Tussauds Sydney, as Robert Irwin becomes the youngest Australian ever to be immortalised in wax. Wearing the iconic Australia Zoo khakis, Robert’s wax figure holds a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV camera with a wax woma python draped casually across the lens.

Robert Irwin said, “I’m honoured to be recognised at Madame Tussauds Sydney with my own wax figure. This investment will enable Agrileaf to expand its operations in existing markets across the US and Europe, as well as build a consumer-facing brand in India. This marks Agrileaf’s first fundraise after being bootstrapped and profitable to date.

The round also saw participation from angel investors including Shaji Devekar, Siddharth Bafna, Co-founder of The Nutcracker, Family office of Ved Prakash, Pritie Jain of Bling Mushrooms, Sumeet Bhalotia, Director at Vario Lounge, Dhruv Taneja, Founder – Matchlog and Chiranth Patil- Beta Plus.

The funding comes at a pivotal time, as the global biodegradable packaging market is anticipated to grow significantly. According to Mordor Intelligence, the market for biodegradable packaging is expected to reach approximately USD 140.66 billion by 2029, with a CAGR of around 5.97% from 2024 to 2029. This growth underscores the rising demand for sustainable, compostable solutions driven by environmental awareness and stricter regulations on single-use plastics.

With this investment, Agrileaf will expand production capacity, enhance its biodegradable dinnerware and packaging line, and deepen its community impact. Operating from a world-class facility in Dharmasthala, Karnataka, Agrileaf integrates a robust supply chain of areca leaf collection with advanced robotics and AI-driven quality control to ensure high-quality, backyard-compostable products that meet both market and environmental needs. Currently, Agrileaf targets to produce up to 300,000 dinnerware products daily by end of 2025 and has created over 1,000 jobs, supporting rural economic development.
